This was the family we focused on with YouTube and Channel 3 News. They are high school sweet hearts, born and raised in Las Vegas. Loritha was taking care of their four children (the oldest, 14 yrs old, not in picture) while Steve was working for the County Parks. Unfortunately, Steve was diagnosed with a condition and when he received the treatment, his position was “replaced”. Without a job, they have not been able to pay for their electricity bill, and have been living without heat for over two months! Loritha cleaned houses on the side, but had to be there with her husband while he was getting treatment. Their car was also repossed, so they live off of food stamps and other government assistance. Without a car, they could not get another job. We provided them a car and Steve has been hired at two places so that he can “bring home the heat”. We are working with the debt collection agency to reduce their $2,000 bill so that we can get them some heat very soon.
